Project Based Inquiry Project: /uploads/1/6/1/1/16111912/pbi_ricketts.docx
In this class, I discovered through the inquiry process that using the web 2.0 tool Blabberize during Daily 5 can increase student's reading fluency, stamina and engagement level.
The texts and readings from this course, especially Zhao and Pink, have been very meaningful and have allowed me to view technology through the lens of global learning.
This course introduced me to the notion of developing your Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge. My personal TPACK development has increased with this course and has provided me the opportunity to reach out and build relationships with my technology specialist and co-workers. My co-workers have shared web 2.0 tools that they currently use in their classrooms; which I am beginning to implement into my own.
Common Core Connection:
- CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.1.4 Read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension.
- CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.1.4a Read grade-level text with purpose and understanding.
- CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.1.4b Read grade-level text orally with accuracy, appropriate rate, and expression on successive readings.
- CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.1.4c Use context to confirm or self-correct word recognition and understanding, rereading as necessary.
Cool Tool Blast Project:
In this class I researched the web 2.0 tool Storybird. I create a list of ways to incorporate this tool into the classroom, as well as gave a list of plus/deltas. In my classroom, students can create a Storybird to create a new ending to a familiar text!
