ECI 523 Teacher as Researcher
Throughout this course I conducted action research in my
classroom.
Action Research Question: How can the use of iPads during Daily 5 support students' literacy growth?
Findings: I was unable to find a strong enough correlation between the use of iPads and literacy growth during one cycle of my research. I plan on conducting an additional cycle to help strengthen my findings. However, I was able to conclude that students who used the iPads made more attempts at blending CVC words after initial isolation than those who did not. Also, I learned the importance of students having a foundation of a particular literacy skill from explicit teaching prior to independent practice on the iPad.
